The new Gardening Club’s goal is to enhance the beauty of the school by aiming to create and maintain a vibrant garden space around the campus.
The club will give students the chance to get hands-on experience with gardening, learn about sustainability with plants, and work together to make our school environment more inviting according to club founder Josh Tinkham ’25.
Tinkham said he wants to make Stevenson a greener, more beautiful place for students, staff and visitors.
“This club will benefit the school by making it look nicer and improving the atmosphere. I also think that this club will help students learn about gardening and nature as well as improving their leadership,” Tinkham said. “Most recruiting has been done person to person but hopefully as flower planting gets started, more people will be interested in joining.”
Tinkham added with the help of the joined group members, Josh hopes to bring a more appealing view to the school and manage the environment around the campus with fresh plants.
“The club is doing well right now, we are still in the set-up phase of fundraising and planning, but we have lots of big plans for the school,” Tinkham said. “We hope to make the school a better environment both from participation in calming and rewarding activities both in flower and garden plots but also to be able to raise school spirit.”
