Prom was a chaotic night full of drama, dancing, and a well-deserved beatdown for Joey Donner in this heartwarming classic. Though the dance ends with our main character, Kat Stafford, in tears, the scene is none the less iconic. Besides, what’s a party without a little bit of heartbreak?

Footloose
Prom night at Payson High looks grim for the small-town teens until Ren McCormack, the toe tapping rebel, fresh off the thrill of a rumble, kickstarts the party with two simple words “Let’s Dance!”. Ren and the formerly shy teens ignite the dance floor to the iconic namesake song, Footloose, without a single care for the anti-rock and dancing legislation of their rural town.

High School Musical 3: Senior year
After 3 movies of trials, tribulations, and a whole heap of singing and dancing, the beloved senior class at East High School celebrates prom in true High School Musical fashion with a dance number in their infamous spring musical dedicated to the big night.

Bad Hair Day
Monica Reeves is definitely having the worst prom day ever. Her hair is fried, her entire outfit is ruined, her date is cheating on her with her rival, and to top it off, she has a jewelry thief to catch! Despite the miserable start to her prom day, Monica turns it all around with the help of her new friend, Liz, a down on her luck police officer and wins the prom queen crown.

Carrie –
Despite its horrific nature, the prom scene in Carrie is no doubt iconic. After stunning in her elegant pink gown with her date, Tommy Ross, Carrie White unexpectedly wins prom queen only to get pigs blood dumped on her. The joke doesn’t last very long before the bullies get what’s coming to them thanks to Carrie’s telepathic powers.

Radio Rebel –
Nothing was stopping Radio Rebel and her adoring followers from having a perfect prom… until the dance was cancelled due to Radio Rebel’s on-air antics which caused school wide anarchy. Riddled with guilt, Tara – a.k.a Radio Rebel – teams up with the local radio station to throw an awesome alternative dance, MORP, and everything goes off without a hitch…until Tara is identified as Radio Rebel who is ordered to be expelled.

Prom Pact
With prom being the only thing on everybody’s minds and promposals flying everywhere, that dance is the last thing on Mandy’s mind after getting deferred from Harvard even though she promised to take her best friend, Ben Plunkett, to prom. Though she briefly loses sight of her goals and priorities, Mandy dances the night away at prom alongside Ben and her ex-tutee, now boyfriend, Graham Lansing after an academic adventure to get off the waitlist. Overall, a very cute and satisfying end to a fun movie.

Prom
There is never a dull moment in this retro Disney film. The James Madison High prom committee has a lot of juggling to do with planning the perfect dance and the many plaguing conflicts in this movie. Nova hopes Brandon will ask her out, Llyod has no date, Lucas is struggling to ask Simone out, Mei is dodging her date, and worst all Jesse isn’t even going to prom! Though they seemed a little doomed, everything worked out and they all had their magical prom night.
