Over 80,000 DTE Energy and Consumers Energy costumers were without power after the long and harsh winter storm Friday night in Southeast Michigan, leaving many Stevenson students without power over the weekend.
“There was nothing to do,” Chloe Wei ’24 said. “We just sat around in our cold and dark house and slept. Not only was it our family, but the entire street was also out as well.”
Even with the intense cold and inches of snow, Stevenson remained open this Tuesday, much to some students’ disappointment.
“The snow was horrible,” Wei said. “We should have gotten a snow day today. It has been so cold, especially with the wind chill.”
